Making things look beautiful: Research…
Taking the pin cushion as one of the items for tomorrows shoot I have found some images on Google that make pin cushions look ‘beautiful’ . The image below is from my previous shoot I will be taking the pin cushion from this image and re-shooting a close up shot.
ITEM 1 – EVE’S PIN CUSHION
Pin cushion research:
Initial search for ‘pin cushions’ on youtube lead me to finding this image, although the shape of the cushion is not the same the definition on the pins and prominence of the pins in the shot should be noticed, the use of there black background as oppose to a white background compliments this feature.
A image that is more in a ‘homely environment’ and is lit up much lighter, there is much more of a emphasis on the patterned detail of the cushion rather than the pin layout, the pattern on the cushion is in-focus and the pins are out of focus however still add to identifying the main object/focus.
A more traditional low-lit image, the focus in this image is the pin cushion along with the pair of scissors and thread, the image has a fairly classy yet homely feel to it, the traditional wooden background adds to the sense of class and sophistication whilst the roll of three and pin cushion and scissors convey a manual labour hand crafted feel. The shadows are the main source of the images traditional feel.
ITEM 2 – EWANS WOOLY JUMPER
ITEM 3: JO HEADPHONES
ITEM 4: BHAKTI’S RING
