I first stumbled across Terry Richardson’s work after becoming obsessed with ‘Matthew Grey Gubler’ from the detective American program Criminal Minds where he stared as Dr. Reid. Once google’ing a fair few images of Matthew Grey Gubler I stumbled across these couple of images which completely blew my mind, not only because I have a slight crush on Dr. Reid but moreso due to the comic element that the photograph portrays and the use of black and white photography on a plain background which portrays the content in it’s rawest form.
The obsessive collection of Gubler photo’s collated on my macbook:
All photo’s collated from Google Images: Typing in the search bar ‘Matthew Grey Gubler- terry’ :
I always wondered how the photographer managed to captured these photo’s which such clarity, emotion, humour and playfulness, once realising and discovering Terry Richardson I started to have a gander at the rest of his work and looked at the way that he conducts his photo shoots to create such astonishing imagery.
